The moment I knew I hit rock bottom: Dad doesn't know who I dated

me n an artist.

This is a Just PMSing original series titled "The moment I knew I hit rock bottom" where I tell y'all about some of my lowest moments. Don't feel sorry for me. Just laugh and buy me a drink. If you have a story you feel can top mine, then start your own blog.

Set the scene: My father and I are in Garland, Texas, in his living room, talking about a friend and her ex-boyfriend. My father is quizzing me about everyone and their dogs' love life. It's an actual news conference and I'm answering all the questions. Ice is my dad. Jesse is a real man, but I changed his name. Thank you for reading.

Ice: How did they meet?

PMS: They met through that guy I dated.

Ice: Who?

PMS: Jesse.

Ice: Who is Jesse?

PMS: Omg, the guy I dated.

Ice: When?

PMS: I don't know, the summer?

Ice: I have no memory of that.

PMS: Yes, you do.

Ice: No, I don't.

PMS: Jesse.

Ice: Jesse?

PMS: Yes.

Ice: What did Jesse do?

PMS: He was an artist.

Ice: What kind of art?

PMS: I don't know. Concept art. Art that went over my head.

Ice: Hmm.

PMS: Jesse. The artist.

Ice: Was he gay?

PMS: Ok, not every man I'm attracted to is gay.

Ice: Debatable.

PMS: Ok, Jesse was not gay. Jesse is not gay.

Ice: No memory of Jesse.

PMS: Oh em gee.

Ice: Ohhh.

PMS: Do you remember now?

Ice: Was he the one who broke up with you over dinner?

PMS: Yes, Dad. Thanks for that memory.

Ice: I remember him now.
